Communities: ‘THE PORTUGUESE OFFER’ LAUNCHED IN THETFORD WITH ANGLO/PORTUGUESE ENTITIES TO BE MADE IN 2026

The Portuguese products and services fair, The Portuguese Offer, to be held at the beginning of 2026, was presented in Thetford, with the presence of several Portuguese and British entities, as well as local and Portuguese Chambers of Commerce.

The occasion was attended by the Portuguese Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Nuno Brito, the Consul-General of Portugal in London, Luís Leandro Silva, the mayor of Thetford, Chris Harvey and his vice-president, Carla Barreto, as well as representatives from the regions of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Breckland and Suffolk.

Also present were the Chambers of Commerce of these regions and, from Portugal, the Beiras Chamber of Commerce. The meeting's agenda was the signing of the first protocols of agreement between British and Portuguese commercial entities with the TPO. Action that will continue in the coming months and will guarantee the participation of exhibitors and their cross-referencing with interested potential buyers from the United Kingdom and vice versa.

The TPO organization intends to reach an agreement with around 35 British Chambers of Commerce and open more commercial connections in Portugal representing the north, center and south of the country, as well as the islands of Madeira and the Azores.

With them, he will organize symposiums on various sectors of the Portuguese and British economy with the presence of members of the government, businesspeople, lawyers, economists and other prominent protagonists and academics from the sectors under discussion.

On the other hand, several trade missions are planned to Portugal and the United Kingdom that could arrange the first businesses, investments and/or projects between the two markets.

We learned from the TPO organization that two symposiums and a trade mission are being prepared for this year.

The Portuguese Offer will certainly be the recovery and development of commercial exchanges, cultural and academic ties, exchange of know-how and search for new markets, which may include Portuguese-speaking and Commonwealth markets, between Portuguese and British companies, or vice versa.
